During research by Steve Cates in 1969, he listed the following individuals as being buried in this location:
John Bogle February 21, 1813 - February 25, 1862
John C. Wilson August 15, 1891 - November 1891
E. Wilson 1885 - 1891
The John Bogle who is buried at the Bogle Cemetery was the son of Robert Bogle and Sarah “Sally” Gibson, and the grandson of Samuel Bogle his first wife, Chloe Reynolds. Samuel, his second wife, Jane Leach, and Robert came to Tennessee with other family members from North Carolina, around 1797-1798. They eventually settled in the Sanders Fork area, possibly near where the cemetery is now. John Bogle owned the piece of land on which the Bogle Cemetery now sits, from 1852 until his death in 1862.
Some of my extended Bogle family members think it’s also possible that the following people are buried in the Bogle Cemetery:
● Samuel Bogle and his second wife, Jane Leech Bogle
● Jane’s father, John Leech
● Samuel’s and Jane’s son, Joseph Bogle Sr. and his wife, Sarah
● Joseph Bogle Sr.’s son, Joseph Jr. and his wife, Sarah Harris Bogle
● Samuel’s and Jane Leech Bogle’s son, William Bogle
● Samuel’s and Chloe Reynolds Bogle’s son, Robert Bogle , and his wife, Sarah “Sally” Bryson
